🏈 COAST FOOTBALL POWER INDEX, TOP 10 AFTER WEEK 7
Week 7 brought some movement to the Coast Football Power Index, especially near the bottom of the Top 10. The rankings are based on the full season, including strength of schedule, quality wins and losses, scoring profile, home and road performance, and the level of competition each team has faced.
1. D’Iberville, 100.0
The Warriors hold onto the top spot. D’Iberville continues to combine consistency, balance and quality results, giving the Warriors the strongest overall body of work on the Coast.
2. Gulfport, 99.9
The Admirals remain right behind D’Iberville after adding a big win over previously unbeaten St. Martin. Gulfport continues to strengthen an already impressive résumé.
3. Poplarville, 99.8
The Hornets were off in Week 7, but there was no reason for them to lose ground. Poplarville remains unbeaten and has been one of the Coast’s most consistent and explosive teams.
4. Pass Christian, 99.7
The Pirates keep rolling and remain unbeaten. Pass Christian has taken care of business every week and sits just fractions behind the top three.
5. St. Martin, 98.4
St. Martin suffered its first loss of the season against Gulfport, but one loss to a highly rated opponent does not erase everything the Yellow Jackets have accomplished. They remain firmly inside the Top 5.
6. Pearl River Central, 97.0
PRC stays at No. 6 despite the loss to Hancock. The Blue Devils’ full-season résumé and strength of schedule are strong enough to keep them in the same position.
7. Picayune, 95.0 ⬆️1
The Maroon Tide move up one spot. Picayune has faced a challenging schedule, and its recent play continues to strengthen its standing as the season moves deeper into region play.
8. Gautier, 94.7 ⬇️1
The Gators slide one position following the loss to Long Beach. Gautier still has enough quality work over the entire season to remain comfortably inside the Top 10.
9. Hancock, 89.8 ⬆️5
No team made a bigger move this week. Hancock jumps five spots after defeating Pearl River Central, giving the Hawks a major quality win and a significant boost in the Power Index.
10. West Harrison, 89.5 ⬆️1
The Hurricanes climb one spot and move into the Top 10. West Harrison continues to show progress, and its overall performance against a challenging schedule has pushed the Hurricanes into the No. 10 position.
⬆️ INTO THE TOP 10: Hancock and West Harrison
⬇️ OUT OF THE TOP 10: Stone and Ocean Springs
The Power Index is about the entire season, not simply who beat whom in one game. Head-to-head results matter, but so do opponent strength, schedule difficulty, scoring performance and everything a team has done from Week 1 through today.
