This is my reality right now. Im a widow. Im living with a loneliness that can be absolutely brutal. I see other people making holiday plans with their partners and families, and sometimes it brings home what I don't have anymore . And after everything Ive lost,I didnt just lose my husband , I lost my home that we shared ,our dream our future....there are moments when the house, the weekends, the evenings — all of it — can feel painfully empty..Yes this is my reality now 💔

God is always with you. Talk to him. Ask for help if you need it. Reach out to others for companionship. You are not ever alone.❤️❤️

Sounds like you are grieving and possibly depressed, which is probably normal. It’s hard to imagine but having dealt with a lot of loss myself, I would suggest getting out of bed. Make goals for yourself and reach them. Go to the gym. Take a hike. Buy plane tickets to places you want to go. Visit people you want to see. Get your hair done and get some sun on your face. Life is waiting for you out there. 🌸

Hi Roz, it’s heartbreaking & grief overwhelming, I’ve just returned from a lovely holiday with my sister showing her ‘our’ favourite places - back home now, the devastation at walking into an empty house & being alone again after 40 years together is beyond description 💔🙏

Force yourself out of the house to do things. It will get easier the more you do it. My stepdad committed suicide a week before Christmas 2024 in mom's house. Getting her out of the house helped her heal. Even if all we did was go for a drive.

So sorry Roz. We lost our mum in July, I suppose you’re experiencing our Dads reality at the moment. My nana always used to say “Marriage is made in heaven” ✝️🙏🏼

There are many people, in your situation, you just need to meet them, they’d probably love a holiday, too. Might be a stretch, for you, but how about standing, for 2027 council elections? I’m sure you’re capable. You’d have instant friends, & possibly even, a new job & income!

Big hugs Roz. I’m not a widow and I know it’s not the same but I understand the loneliness of being on your own without a partner. It’s brutal at times when all you crave is someone to be there just for a hug or a smile or just even the comfort and warmth of a body lying beside you in bed. Thankfully I have Flynn who eases that a bit but it’s not the same.

Been single for a long time now my best advice is to join a club for what you enjoy. I like sea kayaking to so I go on organised expeditions so I get a holiday and there's always a group. It's hard the first time but great after that, met some lovely adventure bunnies that way.

After I became a widow, other widows banded us together. For several years we celebrated our holiday meals together. Hostess cooked the meat, rest brought dishes to fill out holiday feast. Tears and laughter plus leftover plates of food to take home. It helped us through the day

Everyone's journey is their own. Sounds like you had everything and now you don't. Please do not dwell on what is lost, instead be thankful for what you had. Keep going, you've got this! Remember, Jesus loves you.

It’s a really hard change to your life. You need to assess your situation and decide things. Do you want to continue living where you are, do you have family you could be closer to? Do you have hobbies and interests you could pursue through a club?

Life is short. You might as well squeeze in as many stories as possible, he'll want to hear them when you meet again. For him, and for yourself.

I became a widow in 2020. I’ve since become immune to loneliness. It took a bit. But now I like being alone. Things change.
