A joint investigation between the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Peel Regional Police (PRP), and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) led to the seizure of 95 kilograms of cannabis and the arrest of four individuals. The months long investigation uncovered evidence of offences related to the exportation of a controlled substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. On August 21, 2026, RCMP Federal Policing – Central Region’s Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) in Ottawa executed two search warrants in the region of Glengarry, ON. The RCMP took necessary enforcement action following information they received of a potential threat to the population. This included the arrest of a youth who cannot be identified pursuant to the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). At this time, there is no known threat to public safety.
