They said that he was out of the pocket. But it was suspect. When the play happened live, I thought it should’ve been called for intentional grounding. By my judgment, he was still in the pocket but barely. He had moved three steps to his right. As long as the QB is not directly behind the center and has moved somewhat to his left or his right, typically the NFL refs are almost always gonna give the QB the benefit of the doubt. If it’s even a little bit blurry, most QBs are going to get the call. I think it should’ve been called intentional, growling, but based on how the NFL governs those types of plays these days, it’s pretty much normal for QBs to get away with that, as long as the ball goes beyond the LOS.
