For the sixth summer running, our free Maiden Erlegh Lake Fishing Programme gave local young people the chance to swap phones and computers for fresh air, water and a whole lot of fish🌿 Over five weeks, 35 young people aged 8–13 learned new skills, took part in friendly catch competitions and got to know the wildlife on their doorstep all completely free of charge. Highlights from the summer: ✅ Around 50 fish caught per session - all safely returned to the lake! ✅ Rudd, roach, perch, gudgeon, mirror carp and common carp all making an appearance ✅ Young anglers using a catch checklist to identify different freshwater species The moment of the summer was when one young person landed an incredible 162 fish in a single session a new programme record! The best part was it was their very first time ever fishing!🏆 Huge thanks to World of Water at Oaktree Bracknell whose generous sponsorship of equipment, tackle and bait made it all possible, and to Earley Town Council and everyone at the Trust for another brilliant year. We can't wait to do it all again next summer. Here's to more time outdoors, new skills and unforgettable catches for young people in our community 💙

⚽ 🌟 Last week, we were delighted to support Meadow Park Academy's Sports Week as part of National School Sports Week! Pupils enjoyed a fantastic carousel of activities, including football games, our popular football dartboard challenge, and Kin-ball, all designed to keep everyone active, engaged, and having fun. Children embraced the Premier League Primary Stars values of being connected, ambitious, fair, and inspiring, earning rewards for their teamwork, determination, fair play, and enthusiasm. It was brilliant to see these values brought to life in every activity. A huge thank you to everyone at Meadow Park Academy for making us feel so welcome. ⚽ Premier League Inspires Careers at SCL Stadium ⚽ After weeks of preparation, exploring strengths and skills, CV writing and interview preparation, students from The Wren School attended the Premier League Inspires Careers Event at SCL Stadium where they took part in mock interviews with Microsoft professionals. Alongside the interviews, Microsoft delivered an exciting team challenge where students had to manage a £100,000 football club budget — selecting players and managers while presenting their team, justifying their choices and keeping within budget. Students also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of SCL Stadium and had the chance to see the exciting pitch refurbishment taking place. Students initially described feeling nervous and anxious ahead of the experience, but left feeling empowered and proud after receiving supportive feedback and stepping outside of their comfort zones.
