I spend too much time with sports, suits and history for my own good.

If #ReadingFC lose this fixture 4-3 then I do believe Richardson is required to resign out of principle.

Well welcome back Reading Football Club. That's more like it 馃槀

Smith and Knibbs had 41 combined goal contributions in the league last season. Without them, we'd be in a relegation battle. Does anyone think we have players at the club who can fill that gap? Two weeks to go, and we need signings, or it'll be a long season. #ReadingFC

So with 15 played Reading sit on 26 points. Last season after the same number of games we sat on 7 points. It took Reading 28 games to hit 26 points last season at the end of January. For all the problems off the pitch, there's clear progress on it. #ReadingFc

So with tonight's win Reading hit 19 points after 11 games. In contrast it took us 23 games to hit 19 points last season. #ReadingFC

Not to put too negative a spin on this, given anything is better than Dai, but should we not be concerned that the consortium who is alleged to be buying Reading cannot afford to buy the training ground? #ReadingFC

I wonder if the @EFL will actually learn anything from the events of #ReadingFC? Will they realise that points deductions and unenforceable fines don't work when you're contending with an owner who has been hell bent on killing the club he owns for 9 months? Somehow I doubt it.

No one looking to genuinely sell a football club would seek to undermine that by selling the training facilities as a separate asset to a different buyer. As it undermines the price and sale process of the club. In short, he's not seeking to sell the club. #readingfc

Sure we can discuss Dai and points deductions, but ultimately our survival is down to results on the pitch. To pick up 1 point from Wycombe, Shrewsbury and Fleetwood is objectively poor. #ReadingFC

Had they called the game off an hour ago, they could have played the remainder behind closed doors. Instead the dithering by authorities has created a 'who blinks first' situation. Another clear representation of the incompetence from the EFL which left #readingfc in this state.

One day a Reading defender will be confident enough to put their foot through it and clear it during a goal scramble. Today is not that day. #ReadingFC

2 wins in 17 with Southampton. 3 wins in 13 with Reading. How on earth can a manager persist with the same formation and set-up with that record and think of themselves as a success? #readingfc

This is another added concern with the Storey situation. That Dai will genuinely believe he can get 拢50m for the club. A figure which no sane or stable individual or business would offer. All this will do is push the issue down the line and deter actual bidders. #ReadingFC

I can just about sympathise with Dai Yongge for having his assets and wealth frozen by a notoriously brutal and authoritarian government. I can't sympathise with him for appointing a lazy and ineffectual charlatan as CEO who is limiting investment opportunities. #readingfc

No team in the history of the EFL have gone three seasons in a row with consecutive points deductions. Given today's news, it looks like Reading are on for another EFL record. #ReadingFC

In the last 12 fixtures Reading have picked up 6 points having W0/D6/L6. In contrast every other team in the league in that time has picked up a minimum of 10 points and 2 wins. Blame should go in lots of directions, but ultimately on the pitch we've failed. #readingfc

In the space of 12 months Reading have/are experiencing the following: Academy status downgraded from Cat 1 to Cat 2. The men's team is about to be relegated from the Championship. The women's team is likely to be relegated from the WSL. Unmitigated failure. #readingfc

Think the stats say a lot: 3 wins from 22 matches. 3 points from the last 36 available. 0 wins away from home in 2023. After GW25 we had 36 points. Now after GW44 we have 43 points. Awful all round. #Readingfc

1 point from the last 7 away games. 3 points from the last 7 games overall. 11 points gained since the 1st Jan. 3 wins in the last 18 games. No clean sheets since December. 6 points deducted. It's very difficult not to feel pessimistic right now with #readingfc.

On the 31st Dec #ReadingFC were sat 10th after 25 games on 36 points. Sometime this week, at the end of March, Reading will be sat 21st after 38 games on 39 points. Deduction or otherwise, picking up only 9 points in 13 games with poor performances each week. Done for?
