To be clear, I’m not disputing that it’s a flag by the letter of the law. I’m saying it’s bull when the QB’s own recklessness makes it nearly impossible for the defender to avoid the penalty.
The NFL needs to get rid of these slides. If QBs want to run, they need to fall forward.
These slides are more dangerous than simply taking the contact.

The part where Mahomes mentions being the best QB for "this team" is a terrific illustration of what makes him great.
He doesn't care about stats, he cares about winning and he will mold his game to be the QB the team needs each year.
Patrick Mahomes on how easy of a "sell" it was to dramatically increase their under-center usage this season:
