The US allies and partners in the ME are now starting to go around it to make their own deals to stabilise the region. The result is that the US risks becoming materially strategically irrelevant in the broader ME. This really must be just about the single dumbest war the US has ever embarked upon.

The 2003 Iraq War was pretty terrible. It was, by far, the worst foreign policy mistake since Vietnam. On the Iran War, the jury is still out & I don't think we can yet know the long-term impact. But it is possible that the fallout of the Iran War will be even strategically worse than the Iraq War.

The solution is really simple. Everyone pays Iran a buck a barrel to pass Hormuz. I expect neocon outrage because of international laws, motherhood and apple pie.

US/Israel are still relevant as long as they can still bomb people over there.
