Hard to fathom that in the 1980s #MLB averaged 635 complete games per year. In the 1990s it was down, but still over 300 CG per season. #RedSox averaged 52 complete games per year in the 1970s. That was down to 30/year in the 1980s, 11/year in the 1990s, 5/year in the 2000s, 4/year in the 2010s, and have had just 8 since 2020.

American League went to a 162-game schedule in 1961. Since then, 5 #RedSox have appeared in all games of the season, including Dwight Evans, the only one to do it twice: George Scott (1966) Carl Yastrzemski (1969) Jim Rice (1978, 163 games) Dwight Evans (1982, 1984) Bill Buckner (1985)

#RedSox won't announce pitching plans for AL Wild Card Game. Manager Chad Tracy says they'll make an announcement on that tomorrow. #Yankees will be going with Cam Schlittler for Game 1.

#RedSox Manager Tracy: "This was game 162 so it signifies the end of the regular season. Knowing that we were at 47 losses in June, or whatever it was, to finish that way was sensational." Says, "I am very proud of what they've accomplished over the last few months."

#RedSox Manager Chad Tracy on Tanner Houck: "Good to see him back out there. Obviously, Bregman got us today for the most part, but good to see him back out there. Being the first time in 15 months, I thought he looked pretty good so I'm happy he was able to get back out there."
