IMAGINE what’s possible when technology and health care unite to change lives💡 This week, George Helmy, our EVP, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, took the stage alongside Dr. Amy P. Murtha, dean of @RutgersU @RWJMS, and leadership @awscloud, to announce the launch of the Rutgers/RWJBarnabas Health Innovation Hub, Powered by AWS—one of the first collaborations of its kind in the nation. It’s a powerhouse collaboration. Rutgers brings top-tier academic research, faculty, and student innovators. @RWJBarnabas provides vast clinical reach, real-world care settings and diverse patient communities. And AWS delivers cutting-edge infrastructure and engineering mentorship. Together, we’ll take real clinical needs, prototype solutions, and scale them to improve patient outcomes and advance health equity across N.J. To our incredible partners in this work—from the medical students and faculty, to the clinicians and researchers, to the patients and the communities that we serve in New Jersey, and AWS: thank YOU for imagining with us. Here, George and Dr. Murtha 📸 on stage at Thursday’s conference. #HealthcareInnovation #AWS #FutureOfMedicine #HealthyEquity #MedicalEducation

This week, the Young Professionals Group (YPG) of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton was honored on the State Floor at the New Jersey State House by Assemblywoman Tennille McCoy for its current work on “Paint the Town Pink,” its annual campaign in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! The region-wide initiative, which kicks off on Oct. 1, will support the Cancer Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Hamilton. Its reach extends far beyond the walls of the cancer center. Throughout #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, Hamilton Twp. and surrounding Mercer County communities will come together to help bring awareness about cancer prevention and treatment, while directly supporting patients and families in our community. To date, the hospital's YPG has raised more than $2 million in support of programs and services at the Cancer Center at @rwjhamilton! The YPG is a dedicated group of community-minded professionals employed at the hospital and committed to supporting healthcare and strengthening the Hamilton community. Founded in 2003, it has built a strong tradition of service, leadership, and philanthropy.

With school year routines officially back in full swing, don’t forget to pause and check in with your kids amid the rush of homework, sports, and busy schedules! Bringing up sensitive topics can feel intimidating. It’s completely natural to feel anxious or wonder, "What do I even say?" The most important thing you can do is simply come from an open, non-judgmental place of caring💕 says Dr. Marie Didario, our Chief Medical Officer, RWJBarnabas Health Behavioral Health Services. Notice a shift in your child's mood, energy, or behavior? Marie shares a few tips to help you navigate these conversations now and in the months ahead. And remember: you don't have to navigate these heavy moments alone. If you or a loved one seeks behavioral health support, RWJBarnabas Health Behavioral Health clinicians are ready to answer your questions or provide you with a referral to a mental health specialist 24/7. We’re celebrating 10 years of tackling addiction together with our partners across the system, at Rutgers, and at the New Jersey Department of Health and the New Jersey Department of Human Services. While we celebrate our progress towards reducing stigma and increasing care and services for individuals with substance use disorder, we also look to the future of addiction and recovery care and services. With our partners at Rutgers and the State, we will continue to advance treatments and services that improve the quality of care and life for individuals with substance use disorder. Recovery is possible, together. Thank you to Commissioner Cha, from the New Jersey Department of Human Services, and Commissioner Washington, from the New Jersey Department of Health, as well as all our guest speakers, who participated in this landmark event! #TacklingAddictionTogether #NationalRecoveryMonth #RecoveryIsPossible

We were thrilled to welcome New Jersey Health Commissioner Dr. Raynard E. Washington to Harvest: A Farm to Community Center, where he joined our Community Health team and a wonderful group of seniors to co-lead an interactive cooking class alongside registered dietitian Alyssa. Together, we chopped, mixed and enjoyed Rainbow Grain Bowls made with colorful, nutritious, local Jersey-grown ingredients. The class was a delicious reminder of the role food can play in building healthier lives and communities. Through our food-as-medicine programming, we’re connecting people with nutritious food, tools, and knowledge to make healthy choices part of everyday life. A big thank you to Commissioner Washington for championing good health and nutrition – and for rolling up his sleeves and cooking alongside us. The doors of Harvest are always open to you, Commissioner!
