I'll be honest, I fell into poker photography in a "right place, right time" kind of situation in 2021. I barely knew how to play, I didn't watch poker as a kid, I didn't know the magnitude of the game's history, the eras it experienced, the good, the bad. Nothing. I just had a camera in my hand in the right city at the right time.
These are the only photos I have of Doyle Brunson. They're from the final WSOP at the Rio in 2021.
I appreciate these photos much more now than I did at the time of taking. I'm glad to have them. I'm happy to have photographed even a passing moment of Doyle's lifetime of achievement in poker. Even more, I love seeing the photos and recollections of moments that many of my colleagues and friends shared with him come through my feed today.
What a legend.
