Back when I was in the E-4 Mafia, I had a very wise chief who was notorious for asking "AND THEN WHAT" whenever we came up with an idea we thought was brilliant but was really dumb.
Elections don't pause because one side is angry. They happen regardless, ballots are counted from the people who actually cast them, winners are certified, and those winners take office and exercise power. A boycott is not a veto. It is a concession of the field.
That is the core of the “and then what?” question. The system does not stop operating when a faction withdraws. It operates with a different electorate.
Turnout is not a moral statement. It is math. Midterm electorates are already smaller and older than presidential ones. Relatively small shifts in who shows up flip close House districts, Senate races, governorships, state legislative chambers, and secretary of state offices, school boards, etc and the secretary of state offices actually run the next election.
In a year of narrow majorities, that is decisive. A boycott large enough to be “a protest” is large enough to lose the House, lose or shrink a Senate majority, lose state trifectas, and lose the officials who set voter-roll procedures, audit rules, and poll-worker training. Those offices do not sit empty. They are filled by the people who did participate. And then what? You are dealing with a California and not a Florida where you can still make a difference.
State legislatures that flip write the next round of election statutes. Secretaries of state who flip administer the next round of elections. The boycott does not freeze the rules in place. It hands the rule-writing pen to the side that kept voting.
“The system continues without you” is not a slogan. It is the design. And then what?
Courts still decide cases, but the judges who hear them are confirmed by the Senate that exists after the election, not the Senate that would have existed if the boycotters had shown up. None of that machinery requires the consent of people who stayed home.
If the complaint is that electronic machines are vulnerable, that noncitizens are on the rolls, or that a federal SAVE-style bill failed, the practical question is who will be in a position to change any of those things afterward. Sitting out reduces the number of legislators who share that diagnosis. It does not create a legal or institutional pause button. Reasonable people can still want tighter ID, paper trails, and citizenship checks. Those changes require majorities, not absences.
A one-party Congress or a flipped state government can move election law in the opposite direction: more mail voting, weaker ID, different purge rules, different funding for election administration. That is the predictable “and then what.” The protest does not make the existing system more legitimate or more conservative. It makes the next iteration of the system less responsive to the people who walked away.
Protest-by-absence has a poor record as a strategy for institutional change. Walking off the field does not cancel the game. It also severs the only peaceful, legal mechanism most citizens have for replacing the specific officials they blame. Primary challenges, state-level bills, litigation, paper-ballot requirements, risk-limiting audits, and citizenship-verification programs all require people in office who will pursue them. Those people get there by winning elections under the current rules, however imperfect those rules are judged to be.
Frustration with the Senate’s failure to pass the SAVE America Act, with machine vendors, or with enforcement of existing citizenship laws is real for many voters. Converting that frustration into non-participation does not punish the Senate or the vendors. It reduces the coalition that can punish them later. The election still happens. The winners still govern. The only variable the boycotters control is whether they have any representatives left inside the room when the next set of rules is written.
And then what?

TO VOTE OR NOT TO VOTE...IT'S NOT A QUESTION
There comes a moment when every generation finds out what it is made of.
Not when things are easy.
Not when the path is clear.
But when faith is tested, institutions are questioned, morale is collapsing, and good men are being told that nothing matters anymore.
That is when you stand.
I think about the Americans who came before us......the ones who crossed frozen rivers, stood behind stone walls, charged beaches, crawled through jungles, crossed deserts, and carried their brothers home.
They were not promised victory.
They were not promised fairness.
They were not promised they would even live to see what came next.
They simply understood that freedom survives only when someone is willing to carry it forward.
If I had been alive in 1775, I would like to believe I would have been tightening my gear, checking my rifle, looking at the men beside me, and preparing to march.
Not because I knew we would win. Because some things are worth standing for even when the outcome is uncertain. That spirit cannot die now.
You can question the system.
You can demand accountability.
You can challenge corruption.
You can refuse blind trust.
But never confuse distrust with surrender. Washington called liberty a sacred fire. Lincoln called our duty unfinished work. Kennedy told us not to shrink from responsibility.
Now the torch is in our hands. Maybe this is our moment. Maybe history is looking at us right now and asking the same question it asked every generation before us:
Will you carry it forward?
I know my answer.
I will not quit on America.
I will not surrender my voice.
I will not surrender my duty.
I will stand.
I will fight lawfully.
I will speak.
I will vote.
And I will do everything I can to leave this Republic stronger than I found it. For those who came before us. For those standing beside us And for the Americans who have not been born yet.
It is our turn now.

Just for the record I have been loudly calling out the "Elections are rigged, Dont Vote" psyop for years.
I saw it explode in the aftermath of 2020, it popped back up in 2022, ramped way up in the lead up to 2024 and shocker all of a sudden here it's again all over X in 2026.
Voting isnt the only battlefield, but it's always the most important one. Its an odd act to protest too, because of all the things we do to fight the system voting is the hands down easiest one. It requires one single hour of your time every 2 years. Lol
And yes, your vote does count.
And yes, the powers that be are going to try and cheat every single year.
And yes we are going to work to catch and prevent them every single year.
The more involved in the process we get, the less votes they will be able to steal.

Lloyd Clinton Edwards was sentenced to three life sentences plus 51 years for crimes committed in Chico. His original parole eligibility reportedly would not have come until he was 95. Yet California’s Board of Parole Hearings granted him parole in 2022. Today, at 47 years old, he is living in Sacramento County.
The investigative reports describe horrifying violence:
In August 2000, two young women agreed to give Edwards a ride after he claimed his vehicle had broken down. He pulled a handgun, held one woman around the neck, and forced them toward a secluded area. He left one woman beside a rural road, then sexually assaulted and raped the other at gunpoint. He stole their purses and the driver’s rings. DNA testing later matched Edwards to semen recovered from the car.
Weeks later, Edwards entered another woman’s apartment after asking to use her telephone. He forced her into a bedroom, threatened her with a razor blade, punched her in the mouth, and strangled her until she struggled to breathe during an attempted sexual assault. Before leaving, he warned her not to call police because he knew where she lived.
A separate report describes Edwards entering a college classmate’s apartment without permission while she was wearing a towel after showering. She locked herself in a bedroom and hid under a bed. He remained around the apartment for approximately 90 minutes before finally leaving.
How did a sentence of three life terms plus 51 years result in parole in just 20 years?
The Board of Parole Hearings owes the public a clear explanation. These survivors, and the community, deserve answers.
