Hi Cody, I was hoping to make the point that in general, guns are a leading cause of death. I do not think guns should be unceremoniously taken away from folks, AR-15 or otherwise. I do think there is room for improvement in federal regulations around gun ownership & usage.

I'd happily support a federal bill requiring gun safety certification in order to own a gun :)

Do you think there should be any changes to gun ownership and usage regulations, if yes, what changes? If not, my follow up question is: do you think there is any causal relationship between laws and human behavior?

What do you think about the number of gun related murders in the US rising over the past few years? Are you concerned that for the first time, firearm homicide is the leading cause of death in children in the US? Is there anything that can be done to help reduce these deaths?

That's an interesting (and somewhat contradictory) opinion about gun laws correlating with death at the city level. Is there data from cities across the US supporting this? Please share. State and country level data clearly show gun safety laws correlate with fewer gun deaths.

Hi Cody, I don't have the stats from *every* city but I managed to get quite a few city's gun homicide rates from 2021. Baltimore, Chicago, and Detroit certainly have high rates, but NYC, LA, and Portland are quite low. Data source : docs.google.com/spreadsheets…

Replying to @lindyli
Apologies, the Google Chart export function cut off city names. Here is a better image:
