It was an honour to join Enoch Cree Nation (@maskekosihk_ECN) for the groundbreaking of the Millennium Housing Project. Safe and reliable housing is foundational to strong families and thriving communities. Through First Nations Development Fund support and strong partnerships, we are helping advance First Nations-led priorities and create opportunities that support the well-being of community members for generations to come. Congratulations to Enoch Cree Nation on this exciting milestone!

Albertans work hard for their money, and when they spend it, they should be able to buy with confidence. Bill 34, the "Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction Statutes Amendment Act" puts common sense back into consumer protection: ✅ Lemon laws so you can get a refund or replacement when a new vehicle has serious defects that can’t be fixed ✅ Right to repair, so farmers and families can get the parts and information to fix what they own ✅ Credit freezes to stop fraudsters opening accounts in your name ✅ Fair ticket resales, with clear prices and fees, and no more bots buying up seats ✅ A dedicated Surface Rights Board for landowners again Your money, your purchases, your rights. That’s what this Bill 34 is about.

Hope made tangible. This facility will help more people pursue recovery close to home, where healing is strengthened by connection to family, community, culture and traditions.
Alberta is leading the country in building recovery-oriented systems of care that offer real hope to people facing addiction. With the construction of the Enoch Maskêkosihk Recovery Community complete, the 75-bed new recovery community is supported by a $35 million provincial capital investment and ongoing operating funding. The facility will provide holistic addiction treatment for up to 300 people each year, helping more people pursue recovery close to home, surrounded by culture and community. Developed in partnership with Enoch Cree Nation, the Enoch Maskêkosihk Recovery Community is owned and managed by the Nation. It is the third of five Indigenous-led recovery communities built in Alberta.

This is a great headline to read. Excited to work with British Columbia's new government and Premier Lorne Doerkson @LDoerkson to make Pacific Link a priority. Alberta will continue to be strong neighbours with British Columbia and to champion the kind of free trade between provinces that makes Canada stronger.

Our injured soldiers are receiving the very best care. Spent time at Calgary’s Foothills hospital with many of the doctors, nurses and health care workers who are with them around the clock. Their dedication is incredible! To every one of these soldiers, Alberta is with you for the whole road to recovery.

Many congratulations to Lorne Doerksen @LDoerkson on becoming the next Premier of British Columbia! 👏 👏 👏
Congratulations to Lorne Doerksen @LDoerkson on becoming the next Premier of British Columbia. Alberta and British Columbia share strong economic ties and common interests, from trade and energy to transportation and economic growth. I look forward to working with Premier designate Doerksen on shared priorities and advancing the interests of people in both provinces, including unleashing Canada’s potential as an energy superpower. I also want to acknowledge David Eby @Dave_Eby for his service as Premier. While we did not always see eye to eye, I appreciated the opportunity to work together on issues important to both provinces.

On the ground at the Provincial Emergency Coordination Centre this afternoon with Deputy Premier and Minister of Public Safety Mike Ellis, Minister of Hospital and Surgical Health Services Adriana LaGrange and federal Minister of National Defence David McGuinty and Acute Care Alberta interim CEO Dr. Sayeh Zielke. We have just provided an update on the fire at CFB Wainwright. Four members of the Canadian Armed Forces have lost their lives in service to our country. Many more are injured and in recovery across our hospitals. Every part of the response is being coordinated, from first responders through to the hospitals treating the injured and the critical care teams working right now. Alberta stands with our Canadian Armed Forces and will provide whatever support is requested. To those recovering and to the families grieving today, all of Alberta is with you.

My thoughts are with the Canadian Armed Forces, the families who have lost loved ones, those who have been injured and the entire Wainwright community during this heartbreaking time. We are deeply grateful to the first responders and health care professionals whose skill, compassion and dedication continue to support those affected. Alberta stands united in grief and in support of all those impacted.
Alberta is mourning alongside the Canadian Armed Forces and the families, friends and colleagues of those affected by the tragic incident at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright yesterday. The loss of life and injuries are heartbreaking. On behalf of the Government of Alberta, I extend my deepest condolences to the families who have lost loved ones and wish those who have been injured a full recovery. Our thoughts are also with the military personnel, families and colleagues facing uncertainty and grief during this incredibly difficult time. We are deeply grateful to the first responders, paramedics, physicians, nurses and hospital teams across Alberta who have mobilized to provide care to those injured. Albertans should all be incredibly proud of their frontline health care workers and our acute care system that has managed this mass casualty event. We’re also thankful to our neighbours in Saskatchewan who did not hesitate to support our response with additional air ambulance capacity, and to other provinces who have reached out offering their support and condolences. I will be traveling to Edmonton today to meet with provincial ministers and federal officials. The Government of Alberta continues to work closely with the federal government and local authorities. We have convened our Emergency Management Cabinet Coordination Committee and the Provincial Emergency Coordination Centre (PECC) has been activated to a level 3. As a mark of respect for those who have lost their lives and in solidarity with the military community and their families, flags at provincial government buildings across Alberta will be lowered to half-mast. In the days ahead, our thoughts will remain with everyone affected by this tragedy. Alberta stands with the Canadian Armed Forces, the people of Wainwright and all those grieving during this difficult time.
