I've been listening to the Lindsay Clancy trial on Full Trial Audio. Almost done with it. I was not going to listen, but the reaction to the trial had me so baffled, I had to listen and think for myself.
I can't help but think this maniac, high achieving woman, was disappointed that her idea of the perfect kids and her idea of what a perfect mom was supposed to look like didn't fit the picture. She was so self absorbed in all her writings, never mentioned her husband as a reason for living. It sounded like, in her mind, she felt she was losing control.
Outside of the trial there was a Facebook post by her about Dawson, when he hit the 8 month old mark, where she goes off on some rant about him being a difficult kid and if anyone else has had a difficult child like this? She also called the police for a welfare check on her own home when she was at work and obsessively watching her firstborn via the camera. It was seen as just first child nervousness by her co-worker, but in the larger picture, it tracks with an obsessive individual. Highly manipulative.
She should be found guilty. Not by insanity. She should be held accountable for what she did. It's a shame the trial was so poorly done. It felt out of control with the judge speaking more often than in used to seeing when I e watched other trials. That judge was very emotional, he often took either a condescending tone or an angry tone when speaking to the jury. The defense did a great job of sounding like they were running the trial with how often Reddingron would use a speaking objection to interrupt witnesses. I thought the prosecution had a great case, but on emotion Reddington definitely put on a show. Very little substance from him, his experts tried claiming things that simply didn't align with the facts.
If she isn't found guilty, I hope it's a mistrial.
