A day after an Ontario judge ordered his company into receivership, Keel Digital Solutions’ CEO Rob Godfrey blasted the Ford government, blaming its “bullshit” and Skills Development Fund scandal for the company’s financial collapse.
His father, former Postmedia CEO and chairman Paul Godfrey, also alleged that the premier’s office used its “leverage” over Keel Digital to get the newspaper chain he previously ran to publish a letter from Doug Ford to voters on the eve of the 2025 election campaign.
Paul Godfrey’s claims were laid out in a sworn declaration, which Rob Godfrey provided to The Trillium on Tuesday. It had previously been given to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) as part of a criminal investigation into Keel Digital launched late last year after the Ford government forwarded the police findings of an internal audit of one ministry’s payments to the company.
