I just released a "Lite" version of this model that only costs $0.10 per gen! It's a bit slower, and the quality isn't as good, but its useful for less important assets, or just for messing around with.

Amazing luck that I just added low-poly gen to Retro Diffusion days before Minecraft's biggest announcement in years! Create your own minecraft-style 3D models, with full textures and animations in seconds with Retro Diffusion :)
First look at The Sift in Minecraft. The game's first new dimension in over 14 years.

The 3D low poly models take EXACT 3D references now! If you drag another model from your history panel into the references, the model will do it's best to use exactly those models and textures.

Still absolutely blown away by how good the image -> 3d is working. Crazy stuff. I could literally drop my own amphibian tank from home into minecraft.

New tool for the 3D Low Poly model! You can split models into components- and those parts retain their rigging and animations :)

So far a lot of what I'm gathering is that most people like the balance, which is good, that's not going anywhere or changing. And that people who prefer to have a subscription won't use the service unless it offers one.
I've had like 12 people asking me to add subscriptions over the past week. The reason I don't have subs is because I genuinely don't like them... But people keep asking, and it doesn't make sense for me to keep saying no based on a personal preference, so I gamed out some options -> If I did subs, I could probably offer them with three tiers, all over 2.5x the value of buying balance. They would have some usage limits, more expensive models/styles would cost more usage. Subs would work for the API and MCP too, just with reduced concurrency (so companies aren't abusing them). Balance would stay, if you use up your usage, gens would go back to costing balance. And, if you want, you could even choose to pay for a monthly subscription from your existing balance. This is genuinely something I've tried to avoid, and even something I've made part of my marketing, not having subscriptions. But it seems like people really want it. So my question is: Should I add subscription plans to Retro Diffusion? Is this really something you all would like?

Object segmentation and depth is looking good in the automated vfx pipe!

The 3D gen tool has a complex and a blocky mode! And supports transparency!

Doing some UX work and some practical improvements to the low poly 3D tools today. Already shipped is the ability to set a color palette for a model to use! This one is Fantasy24, one of my favorites.

More on the list - Recolor existing model palettes - Orthographic axis export (get flat pixel art from the 3d models!) - Copy button on canvas for easy sharing - Model segmentation to break big models into sub-models (guided by prompt) - Better blocky animations

Astropulse retweeted
I saw retrodiffusion.ai/app from @RealAstropulse and decided to try it for sketching tower concepts for my future game, and I can say it’s insane. It’s almost a ready-made asset for the first and second levels of an archer tower, it only needs a little polishing in Aseprite. Up until this point, I hadn’t seen pixel art done this well.

Why da hell does this post have more likes than the more interesting and complex models 🤣
