This might be the right move. Politics aside, not all PR is good PR. Things like this almost always spell future disaster and Risk. You want to mitigate risk especially in the gaing industry. This risk of having her as the voice actress is too high. Too risky.
People have stopped donating and many are asking for refunds for Double Fine’s Kickstarter campaign after the studio announced Erika Ishii as a voice actress for the winning game.
The campaign passed $550,000 yesterday and almost didn’t move, with the $600,000 stretch goal unlocking Ishii's involvement.
They even locked replies in the post, nobody wants this person around videogames stop hiring people who hates gamers

This speaks to the wider issues if games not being complete. Who kets this get to production? When we do our consulting work these are things we look for. This is hilarious and also sad. The gamers matter and so does their experience. Cutting corners shows the lack of caring and passion.
