LEFTIST ACTIVISTS GOT PLAYED: A Philadelphia public school teacher spent YEARS claiming she was black and Palestinian. Turns out she's a WHITE WOMAN COSPLAYING so she can virtue signal from a a place of authority. Hannah Gann teaches history at the Workshop School, a Philadelphia School District high school. She was a prominent voice in local racial justice and pro-Palestinian education groups, where people believed her claims about her background. Now Gann has admitted on Instagram that she lied about her identity for years. She said she has no Palestinian or Tunisian heritage and described herself as “a white woman of significant privilege and wealth.” She said she hid the truth or lied outright about her background to everyone in her life. Gann insisted that no friend, fellow organizer, family member, professional contact or secret handler knew what she was doing. She said the people who supported her had been manipulated and should not be judged for believing her. Members of the Racial Justice Organizing Committee and Philly Educators for Palestine questioned Gann on Thursday. After about an hour, she admitted she had lied, the groups told The Philadelphia Inquirer. They asked her to acknowledge publicly that she is a white woman of Jewish heritage from what they described as an Israeli settler family. The groups said they were stunned, saddened and angered by the betrayal. They have cut ties with her. And the lie wasn’t confined to private conversations. A biography for a 2024 West Philadelphia teach-in on “scholasticide” in Gaza identified Gann as Palestinian American. The Philly Palestine Coalition said Gann had described her grandfather as Palestinian-born. Citing draft records and naturalization papers, the coalition said he was actually born in Baltimore. It also said the relatives Gann described as family in Palestine live in Israel. According to the coalition, Gann told people she was broke because she was sending money to relatives in Palestine. Some people gave her money. A December 2025 video shows Gann wearing a keffiyeh and speaking with an accent that sounds different from her apology clip. Her activism had drawn attention before this admission. In 2024, Accuracy in Media parked a mobile billboard outside her school calling her “Philadelphia’s Leading Antisemite.” The School District of Philadelphia said it is aware of social media posts concerning an employee and is offering support to affected students and staff at the Workshop School. The district has not said whether Gann faces discipline. Community members are calling her the “Palestinian Rachel Dolezal.” The activist groups that stood alongside her say they learned the truth only after they confronted her themselves. #Philadelphia #Israel

While everyone is focused on the ICE shooting in Austin, the City Council is quietly spending an insane amount of taxpayer money on lawyers to fight deportations. It's tucked into Thursday's consent agenda so it can pass without a word of debate or controversy. The money goes to two nonprofits, American Gateways and Catholic Charities, to provide what the City's own documents call "deportation defense." It pays for: 1. Lawyers representing "detained and non-detained immigrants," including people ICE is actively trying to remove. 2. Coaching immigrants representing themselves in immigration court, helping them file motions and meet deadlines to stay in the country. 3. Legal work that helps immigrants obtain work permits. 4. Federal immigration filing fees. Total bill to be approved: $854,872 City staff list one of the program's goals as helping clients "obtain and maintain public benefits." Austin has already paid American Gateways $3.4 million since 2019, and after Thursday the four contracts will be authorized for up to $6.7 million.
