I loved this as a kid! Comfort food that brings you back to childhood is priceless!
One of my favorite cold-weather meals right here. Yes, I know it’s called SOS, and yes, I know some people make it with ground beef. We didn’t. My mom always made ours with chipped beef in cream gravy poured over toast.
There was just something about eating this on a cold winter morning before heading off to school. Hot, filling, cheap, and stuck to your ribs long enough to get you through the morning. And before anybody tells me what SOS really stands for, trust me, I know. I was a Marine. I still love the stuff.
Some meals don’t need to be fancy. They just need to taste like home.

Pray for your pastors
Very interesting phenomenon: Almost every pastor I know (from all parts of the country) are experiencing 2 things at the same time right now…
1) More salvation, more baptism, greater attendance than ever before.
2) More attack, more opposition, more viciousness (both online and in-person) than ever before.
All kinds of pastors from all different denominational backgrounds, all different church sizes, and all different regions.
Pray for your pastor.

They are drilling into a boat-shaped formation in the mountains of Ararat, and everybody wants the drill bit to settle an argument that God settled with ink thousands of years ago. Maybe Durupınar is Noah’s Ark. Maybe it is an unusual geological formation. I am perfectly content to let the cores come out, let the laboratories examine them, and let the facts speak before somebody starts selling splinters as souvenirs. But here is the part nobody can drill around: “the ark rested…upon the mountains of Ararat” (Genesis 8:4). Whether they find the lumber or not, God already gave you the location, the judgment, the survivors, and the reason it happened.
What makes the timing interesting is that Jesus said, “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:37). Then Peter said the last days would produce scoffers asking, “Where is the promise of his coming?” while being “willingly…ignorant” of the world that once perished beneath water (2 Peter 3:4–6). Now picture the irony if they actually uncover convincing remains of an ancient vessel while the same generation laughs at Genesis, mocks the Second Coming, and insists that judgment is a primitive religious idea. God has always had a way of letting a man trip over the evidence while he is busy announcing there is none.
But do not make the mistake of thinking that finding Noah’s Ark would make the world repent. They watched Lazarus walk out of a grave and started planning murder. They watched Christ heal the blind, cleanse lepers, raise the dead, and feed multitudes, and John still wrote, “though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him” (John 12:37). Fallen man does not merely suffer from an evidence shortage; he suffers from a heart that wants a universe without a Judge. You could drag Noah’s entire ship into Times Square, scrape pitch off the hull in front of the cameras, and somebody would have a documentary out by Friday explaining why it proves everything except the Book that told you about it.
So yes, drill the hill. Test every layer. Publish every result. If it is rock, call it rock. If it is timber, call it timber. If it turns out to be Noah’s Ark, I will enjoy watching the textbooks develop a sudden case of indigestion. But the greater warning is not buried under Turkish soil. Noah had one Ark, one door, and a world that waited until the rain started before deciding the old preacher might have had a point. Jesus Christ said, “I am the door” (John 10:9). The tragedy of this generation would not be failing to find Noah’s Ark. It would be finding it, and still missing the Door.

O Lord, You are high above all the earth,
yet You draw near to those who call upon Your name.
The heavens declare Your majesty,
and the earth is filled with the evidence of Your goodness.

Being a good human will come back to you as blessings
Things we can just start doing to move the needle of humanity back toward stable:
1. Sing. In the shower. As you walk. Even
hum. But as often as you can.
2. Smile at cashiers. Say thank you. Maybe we had to wait too long, but they are the ones who showed up to work.
3. Money is tight for many. If you’re blessed, pay for the car behind you.
4. Take off your shoes and walk across your yard. No yard? Try the park.
5. Mail a card (yes, with a stamp) to someone who matters or once mattered to you. Emails don’t count
6. If you see someone older than you, smile when you make eye contact
7. For goodness sake, drink some water
8. Find a give back. If financial isn’t an option, go walk a dog at a shelter or brush the hair of someone in an old folks home
9. Go read at a school. One hour a month Or a preschool. Or somewhere. Don’t want to read to kids? Ask what else teachers may need.
10. Pray. Maybe even show up at church. Pray for someone that grinds your gears. Pray for someone that makes you want to say bad words.
11. Every single day find 5 things you can say you are grateful to have/know. Can be simple. But actively name them.
12. Plant a tree. Or a bush. Or a flower. Touch dirt.
Feel free to add your own, but yeah. Let’s heal this world. One intentional act at a time.

This is a travesty. This world is upside down and backwards.
🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting after a 22-year-old who runs into BURNING BUILDINGS as a volunteer firefighter was told he isn't qualified to be a paid firefighter...
...because he was HOMESCHOOLED.
Then the city changed the job posting to cover it up.
His name is Andrew Coates. He's 22 years old, in Nebraska.
Right now, today, he runs into burning buildings as a volunteer firefighter for Cedar Bluffs Fire. He is a state-licensed EMT.
He is doing the job. For free.
All he wanted was to get PAID to do it. In his words: "Make a career out of it would be the goal. To get paid to do what you love."
So he applied to the Fremont Fire Department.
And in April, the city rejected him. Why?
Because his high school diploma says he was homeschooled.
That's it. That's the whole disqualification.
Not his EMT license.
Not his fitness.
Not his record.
Not his experience pulling people out of fires ALREADY!!
...how he was educated.
The job posting he applied to said "graduation from high school."
That's all it said.
He graduated high school.
He has a diploma.
And AFTER they rejected him, the city went back and added the word "accredited" to the job description.
His own fire chief, the man who has watched Andrew work, showed up to defend him:
"I feel the city of Fremont is really missing out here, and in my mind, because of his homeschooling, you guys are discriminating against him."
Over THIRTY homeschool families showed up to stand behind this kid.
And the Civil Service Commission? They said it isn't their job to touch city policy.
Homeschoolers are literally a generation of kids who read ABOVE grade level, who work with their HANDS, who volunteer in their communities, who show up for their neighbors.
And this young man is the proof.
At 22, he's a certified EMT and a volunteer firefighter, while plenty of his peers are on a couch.
When your house is on fire at 3 a.m., I promise you will not ask the man dragging your children out where he went to high school.
You will not ask if his diploma was accredited.
You will thank GOD he came.
Andrew isn't even fighting for himself anymore. His words:
"I think now it's turned into we want to make sure that every homeschooler has an equal opportunity."
That's a better man than the policy that rejected him.
Fremont, you have a licensed EMT and an active firefighter begging to serve your city. And you turned him down over paperwork, then rewrote the paperwork to cover it.
Fix this.
Hire him!!!!!!!

A man who was dressed in women's clothing & standing directly in front of a school was taken into custody for violating the sex offender registry. Two women yelled at us the entire time we were placing him under arrest telling us we were "singling him out & violating "her" rights". This is what they were defending & cussing us for🙄👮♂️
