A more detailed map provded by a local Cllr shows the proposed wind turbine site even closer to the Ouse Washes than the outline. We already lose plenty of swans to power lines, imagine the carnage 15 turbines right in their flight path will create @NaturalEngland @TonyJuniper
Some fuckwit has decided it would be a good idea to build a wind farm right next to the Ouse Washes SSSI, an internationally important site for migrating waterfowl. Great idea @VattenfallUK !

There are a number of studies showing that bird strikes can be reduced by over 70% when one of the turbine blades are painted. Such a plan may not result in unacceptable bird casualties.

The swans regularly fly in the dark, so that won't work like it may for raptors.
