Y'all, please pass this along!!
We are running out of time to save Major, the Malinois.
Major, Shane Lilly's service dog, was injured when he was struck by a car.
A woman he didn't know came to try and pick Major up to get him in a car, and when she did, he bit her.
But an injured dog, who is scared and hurt, isn't being vicious.
He's protecting himself.
He's been in doggie isolation for over a year, with a death sentence hanging over his head.
His human, Shane, has been fighting for his dog ever since.
It's now in the hands of a judge.
Please reach out to Austin Mayor Kirk Watson!
Mayor Kirk Watson's public email is mayor.watson@austintexas.gov.
Phone is 512-978-2100.

THE HOUSE OF SYN: As in the L.A. ace guitarist Andrew Synowiec, with whom I had the pleasure of working on tracks for my solo album in progress. He has one of the most amazing guitar studio setups I’ve ever seen. What an amazing talent. Looking forward to sharing the results!

🙏🙏 4 THE KENEALLY FAITHFUL: The Sept run of @mikekeneally gigs is over. Huge thx to the MK hardcores who have been supporting this beautiful music for 30+yrs & counting!
Now it’s solo album work time again. Many folks asked about it. That's fuel. The final push starts now.

LAST GIGS OF THIS RUN: It's been a wild and wacky and superfun run of gigs with @MikeKeneally this month, and we're closing it out at our home away from home, @BakedPotatoJazz. TONIGHT and TOMORROW NIGHT! Yes I'm shouting! So you can hear me! See you there!

Mike Keneally might be the most underrated Mother ever.
Zappa gave him a chance.
Because Keneally played note for note any song that Zappa asked him to play during his audition... or close to it. 🎶

Steve was freaking killing it! In my top 5 of all time! And Bryan....I'm sure your Mom loves that haircut on you!🤘😂
VAI 2007: @SteveVai is posting clips from the '07 String Theories tour DVD this week to celebrate 30 yrs of the "Fire Garden" CD. Will always be grateful to Steve for having me on this one, despite me having the world's absolute worst haircut at the time. 😅

My personal favorite guitarist for over 50 years!
While Buck Dharma is highly rated among guitarists (he influenced and is revered by many great guitarists), I think he is and should be considered one of the all time greats by everyone! He was playing at a level few could touch in the 70's. And his phrasing and style is killer!

SATCHVAI ALBUM: Dropping this fall. I'm on the last track, which starts w/a reel-to-reel recording of JS/SV during a gtr lesson in 1973! Trippy.
Also trippy: today I'm at Mates w/@mikekeneally rehearsing. Last time here? 2007, audition for Vai's String Theories band. 🤯

Great interview from Bryan!
THE GRIND NEVER STOPS: Here's a podcast I did on "how I got here", and I'm deeply grateful for all of it - but also, this thing of ours (the music biz!) is a process and not an event. (1/2)

SCREEN BREAK: Lots of detail work on the solo album means this still needs to happen even if it’s hotter than ten hells outside.
Making progress. Still a long way to go.

TOMORROW NIGHT: I'm playing w/LA ace gtr Andrew Synowiec for his fusion gig at The Baked Potato tomorrow night. On drums is Julian Ho, an amazing young cat with a killer groove. 1st fusion gig in a bit for me. We rehearsed last night, it was pretty hot! Come witness the splendor.

Another totally under rated keyboardist: The great "Neil Doughty", REO Speedwagon! Man I love that piano on 157 Riverside Ave on the live album You Get What You Play For!
