A linking book drops you on a deserted island. There is no combat, no inventory clutter, and almost no one to talk to. You click through pre-rendered scenes, read journals, fire up machines, and travel to other Ages to decide which imprisoned son of Atrus — if either — you should trust. The whole story is told through places, puzzles, and quiet dread.
Fun fact: The Millers hoped 100,000 copies would be a miracle. It sold more than 6 million and was the best-selling PC game of the 1990s until The Sims passed it. It also helped sell CD-ROM drives to people who did not think of themselves as gamers.

Watched this last night. This movie was WAAAAAAY ahead of its time. Very thought provoking!🤔
I only wish they had re-released it in 4K. The Blu-ray was a tad grainy IMHO. But definitely worth a watch!

SoA is one of the greatest desktop RPG experiences ever made, but the expansion (Throne of Bhaal) was arguably more fun to play! Cespenar was hilarious. 😄

You wake in a dungeon under Athkatla as a Bhaalspawn. The mage Jon Irenicus has you, and your childhood friend Imoen, for reasons that get worse the more you learn. Escape into Amn, pick a party, and spend dozens of hours on side quests, romances, the Underdark, and a villain who talks circles around most fantasy antagonists. Real-time-with-pause combat on the Infinity Engine, AD&D 2nd Edition rules, and companions who argue with each other as much as they fight for you.
Fun fact: It sold more than two million copies and swept RPG of the Year from IGN, GameSpot, and GameSpy. You could import your hero from the first Baldur’s Gate. The original PC box was a five-CD brick. Throne of Bhaal finished the saga in 2001.

Simple. Enforce MSRP pricing online for 1-year. Scalping ends. Investors can still win. Producers see real demand analytics. Online sellers deal with less corruption. Community can acquire products easily from their favorite suppliers.

Pokemon TCG is essentially eliminating the next generation of children from this hobby by allowing this scalping to continue. Something really needs to be done about this. It’s sickening to me that you literally cannot find a single pack at msrp anywhere…

Not sure who the OP was (shout out to them), but this is a classic example of why work cultures need to value “people” over “products.”
