In the meadow of riddles, where deceptions entwine,
The wise sheep inquires, with a gaze so divine:
"Who is the shepherd, our guardian so true,
In this dance of shadows, what path does he pursue?"
The wiser of wolves, smirking, echoes the plea in his mind,
Wondering slyly, "Has the watcher gone blind?
Deliberate lures, weak veils I have spun,
To swell sheepish pride till the real hunt's begun."
The eyes too observe from the hill's silent crest,
Unseen in the mist, putting schemes to the test.
Like the Good Shepherd's call in ancient scrolls told,
they wait for the flock to discern fool's gold.
For in wolves' cunning games and sheep's mocking play,
The true shadow might emerge at break of the day.
Beware overprides, in this biblical twist,
Few ghosts are near-it's their voice you've dismissed.
