Ethereum is special because it is the only thing that two opposing nation-states can use. China would never use the US’s blockchain, and the US would never use China’s blockchain. So a neutral substrate must emerge to house the global digital economy. & that’s Ethereum.

Good argument, but I wonder what about a 33% slashing event? Seems like the network would split in 2, each refusing to honor the other’s validator set, and each network would only process RWAs/Stables withdrawal on their own version.

ETH maxis never engage with this argument. They think the 33% slashing event is impossible because it’s a lot of money, who would let it burn? So they’ve never actually game-theorized what would happen. In reality, the slashed validators will just form their own chain.
