Last week, I was proud to support the passage of the GUARD Act and the Tax Relief for Fraud Victims Act in the House. Together, these bills would give law enforcement additional tools to combat financial scams and provide tax relief to Northeast Ohioans who have suffered devastating losses from fraud. On this day in 1787, our Founding Fathers signed the United States Constitution, establishing the framework of government that has guided our nation for more than two centuries. Today, we celebrate this historic and defining document and remain committed to ensuring its vision is fulfilled.

Today, the House passed my bill, the Providing Emotional Assistance with Relief and Love (PEARL) Act. This legislation establishes a pilot program to adopt dogs from local animal shelters to be trained as emotional support dogs for CBP personnel.

Today, I chaired the @HouseAppropsGOP Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee hearing on the Economy Act to discuss the origins of this statute and how it has been used since enactment. As an appropriator, I am always encouraged by opportunities to find real savings for taxpayers and assess whether interagency agreements are delivering efficient, accountable results.

25 years later, we will always remember the innocent lives lost during the September 11th attacks, and honor the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice. Never Forget.

On Friday I joined the Concord Township Fire Department as they broke ground on the new Fire Station No. 2. I was proud to help secure $3.75 million in community project funding for this project, giving first responders the resources they need to safely and effectively serve Concord Township.

I was deeply disturbed to hear about the attack on Dr. Amy Acton earlier today. Political violence has no place in Ohio or anywhere in our country. I am grateful to the law enforcement officers who responded quickly, and I am praying for the recovery of those who were injured.

The Great Lakes are an invaluable natural resource, and we have a responsibility to protect them.
