Ho Yin Mo is a steadfast public servant who has been helping Bay Area residents access essential health care, child care and food assistance programs. His unnecessary detention is keeping him away from the communities he serves and those who care about him. Ho Yin Mo is my constituent and I am working closely with Assemblymember Stefani to help bring him home to the Bay Area where he is deeply missed. DHS is arresting and detaining people who are following our immigration process simply to fulfill Trump’s senseless quotas, and is consequentially hurting many law-abiding immigrants who are living and working here legally. These types of unnecessary detainments are costing families and communities dearly, and it is un-American. I will continue to exercise oversight over DHS and ensure our communities are safe.

Difficult to see another train-vehicle collision at the Broadway crossing in Burlingame, which is considered the deadliest crossing in California. Local communities need federal and state support for critical safety upgrades, which is why I secured $3 million for a grade separation project here, but much more funding is needed.
