I was proud to be in Troy this morning to cut the ribbon on the Academy Street Career Innovation Academy—the second career tech center opened under the Alabama Career Pathways Program. This $40M facility will train generations of students from Pike and Dale Counties for high-paying, in-demand careers across Alabama’s Wiregrass Region.

God had his hands on this U.S. Marshall when he came face to face with one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives today. He is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery. Alabama’s law enforcement officers risk their lives every day to protect our state. We owe them a debt that can never be repaid.

$200,000+ supporting conservation and rural development projects is coming to DeKalb County. This funding will enhance outdoor recreation, support local non-profits, and strengthen the community we love. Thank you to the Alabama Association of RC&D Councils for its support.

It’s been 25 years since our nation was attacked on 9/11, but the events that occurred on that September morning are forever etched into the minds of those who lived through them. On that horrific day, we saw the very best of our nation. From the first responders to the Americans in and around the World Trade Center to the incredibly brave passengers aboard United 93, Americans stepped up to help their fellow countrymen. May we never forget the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the courage that defined our nation in the days that followed.

It was great to spend some time with Daisha Wilks and Dalton Hamby—two Alabamians who are competing on this season of The Amazing Race! Our state is proud of these two!

Happy National Dog Day! Reagan is 10 months old and WIDE OPEN. We’ve been working hard lately to get ready for hunting season. We love our dogs in Alabama, and I’m very proud that we passed a bill last session to ensure their adequate care is state law!

It’s always an honor to have my friends @SenTuberville and @willainsworthAL in DeKalb County. We enjoyed a great lunch and did some game planning for his first session as governor at the one and only Kelly’s Kitchen, which is where Coach kicked off his U.S. Senate campaign.

Big news — the first round of grants from the Alabama Rural Health Transformation Program has been announced, and DeKalb County will benefit from more than $15.7 million in projects serving our community and surrounding areas. This funding will expand access to specialty care, help address workforce challenges at DeKalb Regional, and create new opportunities for telehealth and school-based mental health services for our students. I’m excited to see this new stream of funding make its way to DeKalb County and other rural communities across our state.

Mr. Drinkard was a veteran, a very successful businessman, and a longtime community leader. He leaves a legacy of service and generosity that will continue to impact our state for generations to come.
