I joined the Rally for Recovery during National Recovery Month to acknowledge the millions of Americans living in recovery from substance use disorders, as well as their families, providers, and communities who support them.
My mom just celebrated 9 years in recovery and is an example of what's possible when people have access to the medical care they desperately need. She is there for all the big and small events of our lives, and I'm grateful every day that she is still with us. I will continue to fight to make sure others have that same chance.

That starts with independent audits, making sure federal agencies have the funding & expertise to oversee these systems, and ensuring any AI that fails safety checks cannot be deployed in the U.S. New Tech should empower people, not put them at risk. Our rural communities depend on federal support to provide essential services like keeping up roads, responding to emergencies, and upkeep so we can keep welcoming people from across the globe.

Do not ever try to tell me this administration prioritizes women or moms. They are now canceling $38M in essential grants for pregnant moms, vulnerable babies, and addiction treatment to "reprioritize" it for conditions in men. It's sad and despicable.
