Twenty-five years ago, 2,977 people were killed in the 9/11 attacks.
They went to work that morning — just as I did. They boarded airplanes. They said goodbye to their families, expecting to see them again that night. But they never came home.
We remember the first responders who ran toward danger in NYC. The passengers and crew of Flight 93 who fought back. The men and women at the Pentagon. And all those whose lives were taken that morning.
Twenty-five years later, I remember that day clearly. Hoosiers remember it, too — where we were, who we were with, and how our country came together afterward.
We will never forget.
