As we celebrate Martin Luther King Day, let’s reflect on the many lessons he taught us. He said, “We need leaders not in love with money but in love with justice. Not in love with publicity but in love with humanity.”

He also said, “The world is all messed up. The nation is sick. Trouble is in the land; confusion all around…. But I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough, can you see the stars.”

There were things that I was not taught in school about MLK, a “Christian minister.” I did my own deep dive yesterday. Here are a few things I learned: - MLK denied the resurrection of Jesus. - He did not believe that Jesus was born of a virgin. - He cheated on his wife with 40 different women (Impregnating one of them). - He hosted orgies. - A Baptist woman who protested his behavior was r*ped while MLK watched. - While watching, he laughed and offered “advice.” I think we should abolish MLK Day as a federal holiday. I certainly will make sure my children know this part of his history.
