Archived account of former U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy, who proudly represented Central Florida in the House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023.

We can disagree on policy, but we shouldn't make it personal. It is the responsibility of elected officials to turn down the rhetoric and return civility to our public debates.
It's been one year since we passed the historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill and it is already making a difference in our communities.
Check out some of the ways Florida will benefit in the coming years ⬇️
This #VeteransDay and every day, I am thankful for the service and sacrifice of all who served in our armed forces. The freedoms and values we enjoy in the United States, we owe to our veterans. Thank you for your endless contributions to our country. We are forever grateful.
Florida manatees have suffered a recent and unusual spike in deaths. This affects the entire ecosystem, including vegetation, fish populations, and coastal economies. I successfully pushed for a federal investigation into this die-off and will continue working towards solutions.
Last month, my team and I had the chance to meet with @USFWS and Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge officials to discuss their efforts to preserve Florida's natural habitats and creatures. They are working hard to protect the particularly-vulnerable Florida manatee.
Hurricane Ian showed us just how important flood and stormwater management is for our communities.
I’m working to secure funding for two projects to address these issues in Sanford & Seminole County and was excited to talk about them with community leaders this week.
I had the pleasure of touring the new @LibraryWP this week and seeing all the innovations they’re bringing to our community, including 3D printing and a recording studio! I even got myself a new library card 📚
Last week, my office hosted Service Academy Board members to conduct nomination interviews for students across Central Florida interested in attending a service academy. We were impressed by all the young people who want to make a difference in our country.

To wrap up our #HispanicHeritageMonth highlights, I'm proud to spotlight Ellen Ochoa. She was the first Hispanic woman launched into space, where she has now spent over 1000 hours. After retiring, she served as Deputy Director of NASA's Johnson Space Center.
To make sure nothing like January 6 ever happens again, we have to fix our institutions and strengthen the guardrails that were exploited during and in the lead-up to the attack on the Capitol.
Tune in today at 1pm EST ▶️ youtu.be/IQvuBoLBuC0

Emergency operation centers in towns across Florida are helping people in #Ian's path. Thank you @WinterParkFla public servants for working non-stop to protect our community--Mayor Anderson, Police Chief Volkerson, @WPFireChief, City Manager Knight, Ass. City Manager del Valle.
Today, I joined my colleagues in the Florida delegation to support our state's request for a Major Disaster Declaration for #HurricaneIan.
