Kane is good, links up well but as a centre forward Shearer rattled in goals that made fuckin Blackburn win the prem and scored screamers, headers,volleys and alsorts against more brutal defenders. Shearer wins that comparison for me tbh

Kane is better than Shearer in every single department apart from: Shearer was more physical. Shearer (at his peak) was a yard and a half quicker. That’s it, any other metric you can think of Kane comes out on top.

Wrighty described Shearer as the quintessential English no.9. Kane has scored more goals for England and proved himself at a top European club (no, not Spurs), and arguably he creates more chances for others. But Shearer is still the top English no. 9 for my money.
