Leader of the Muslim Independents in the London borough of Newham complains about people drinking alcohol. “There is a mosque here and drinking alcohol is prohibited in Islam.” Who does he think he is? This is Britain, not Bangladesh. If you want Shariah, perhaps it’s about time you packed up and left!

A Restore member in Tottenham contacted one of our organisers today. He is donating part of his pension to his local @RestoreBritain branch. Successive governments took his high street, his community, his safety and his place on the waiting list. Now an elderly man on a limited income is sending what little he has left, because he no knows this government will continue to neglect him. He should not have to do this.

London spent £2.025 billion on homelessness last year. Up £439 million in twelve months. Temporary accommodation here is 7.5 times higher than the rest of England. Newham, East London: 59.8 households per 1,000. The rest of England: 2.8. 341,421 households are on the social-housing list yet there has been just 8,184 affordable homes made available. The government will not say it. We will. This is mass migration: years of high-volume, low-skilled arrivals dumped onto a housing market that was already short of homes. This is clearly unsustainable.

At a Restore Britain branch meeting last week here in East London, @cfdownes_ delivered this hard hitting speech entitled: “taking our own side.” This, is the way forward.

The story starts almost 900 years ago, in 1123. St Bartholomew’s Hospital was founded by a man called Rahere, who had been a courtier associated with Henry I. According to the longstanding tradition surrounding Barts, Rahere became seriously ill while travelling on pilgrimage to Rome. During that experience, he had a vision of St Bartholomew, who directed him to establish a church and hospital in London. Rahere returned to England and founded the priory and hospital at Smithfield. Barts has remained on essentially the same site ever since — making it the oldest hospital in England still operating on its original site. The place I found God through healing.

I borrowed £43,871 when I went to uni and graduated in 2020. I have been paying off my Plan 2 student loan since April 2021. Today, my balance is £89,861.50. Back in August 2024 my interest rate was 8% each month. To put that into context, that’s £590.90, and I could only afford to pay £115.00. How is this fair? In 2016 I was told it would feel like a household bill or a trip to the cinema. Now it’s the difference between getting on the property ladder or staying in rented flat shares. Every month, to this day, £307.30 of interest is added to my bill. And I’m projected to pay 9% of my salary for the next 25 years to repay my student loan. This has to end. A Restore Britain government will fix this injustice and will always put British men and women first.

It’s about who gets what. It is about who is in control.

In 2025–26, Sadiq Khan’s Greater London Authority (GLA) granted £290,000 to Refugee Action for its ‘Frontline Immigration Advice Project’. Who is Refugee Action? In their own materials they call for: •The ending of the “hostile environment” meant to deter illegal migration • Repealing the Nationality and Borders Act, Illegal Migration Act and Rwanda Act •Lifting the ban on asylum seekers working •Treating asylum as a racial-justice issue •The building an “anti-racist” system Khan funds this attack on the British way of life. Londoners pay the bill. @RestoreBritain will end both.

Britain is our home. And it’s being run like a hotel. I want to restore that sense of safety my grandparents knew. I want to restore that sense of community my parents knew. From the Norfolk farmers to the east end cockneys. I want to restore the high trust society we once knew. I want to restore trust in politicians that behave with honesty and integrity. I want to restore the ‘Great’ in Great Britain. Britain is our home, and we need to get our house in order. This is why I am standing for Restore Britain.
