🇮🇱 STAND TALL, BIBI. STAND TALL, ISRAEL. 🇮🇱 Today at the UN, dozens of delegates walked out as Benjamin Netanyahu began his speech. And Bibi looked at those who remained and said: “If there are any other moral cowards who haven’t yet left the hall, please do so now.” 👏🇮🇱 I stand with him. Because walking out does not erase history. It does not erase October 7. It does not erase the hostages. It does not erase the victims. And it certainly does not erase the evidence. On October 7, 2023, Hamas and other armed groups murdered more than 1,200 people and abducted around 250 hostages. The UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Pramila Patten, found reasonable grounds to believe that conflict-related sexual violence occurred during the October 7 attacks, including rape and gang rape at multiple locations. (United Nations⁠) And the Bibas family will never be forgotten. Shiri Bibas. Her four-year-old son Ariel. Her baby boy Kfir. Shiri’s parents, Yossi and Margit Silberman, were also murdered on October 7. Yarden Bibas — Shiri’s husband and the boys’ father — survived captivity. A family destroyed by Hamas terrorism. We must never allow their story to disappear. And there is another fact people need to hear. Alice Wairimu Nderitu, Kenya’s former UN Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, said she was pressured and “hounded, day in, day out” to declare that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza. She refused to make that determination. Why? Because she said that a genocide determination is a matter for a court of law. She also said the intense pressure she experienced was unlike what she had encountered concerning other conflicts during her time in the role. (FDD⁠) That does NOT mean the debate over the legal definition of genocide has disappeared. It means we should be honest about the evidence and about who has actually made which legal determination. Israel has consistently rejected the genocide accusation and says it is fighting Hamas and defending its population. And while the world argues over words, Israel remembers the people who were actually murdered on October 7. Hamas. Hezbollah. Iran and the IRGC. The hostages. The families. The children. The victims of sexual violence. These are not abstract words to Israelis and Jews. They are human beings. So when Netanyahu stood at that podium today and refused to be intimidated by the walkout, I understood exactly why. Israel is not going anywhere. The Jewish people are not going anywhere. We will remember October 7. We will remember the hostages. We will remember Ariel and Kfir. We will remember Shiri. We will remember every innocent victim. On Norfolk County Council, Restore Britain councillors have successfully passed a motion to deliver improved British Sign Language services - alongside abolishing foreign language translation. We aim for funds currently used to translate Arabic, Sudanese, Romanian and whatever else to partly go towards vastly improving help for deaf British men and women. Personally I find it outrageous how across the public sector, particularly in the NHS, we bend over backwards to provide translation to every African language going, yet fail to give an adequate level of support to Brits in genuine need.
