We have been informed by the North Midlands Development Football League that our Under 21 game on Thursday against SJR Worksop U21 has been postponed. A new date will be announced in due course.

WELCOME BACK, AINSLEY FINNEY! 🔵⚽ Retford FC are delighted to announce the return of striker Ainsley Finney to the Green Bros. Rail Stadium following a spell with Staveley Miners Welfare subject to league approval. Finney returns to the Choughs in excellent goalscoring form, having netted 8 goals in 16 appearances for the Trojans this season. A familiar face to Retford supporters, Ainsley has previously made over 50 appearances in a Choughs shirt, scoring an impressive 23 goals. His return will be particularly welcome after injury cruelly cut short his 2025/26 campaign, restricting him to just one appearance before he was sidelined early in the season. Manager Chris Woodhead is delighted to have secured the striker’s return: “Ainsley has been a prolific goalscorer throughout his career, and we were all disappointed when injury brought his season to such an early end last year. “He moved to Staveley in pre-season and has worked hard to get himself back to full fitness, which has been reflected in his performances and goals so far this season. “I’m delighted to welcome him back to the club. He knows Retford well, we know what he is capable of, and he’ll add even more firepower to our attack as we look to build on our season.” With his fitness restored and his eye for goal clearly undiminished, Finney’s return provides another exciting attacking option for the Choughs. Welcome back to the Green Bros. Rail Stadium, Ainsley! 💙
