I am amused that people complain about not being able to afford starter homes compared to boomers when the average house in their day was 750-850sf. That is smaller than a doublewide today. You could literally fit that whole house in my great room today. Roof included.

I met a woman today who has a disabled kid who just turned 18 and "qualified her house" to take care of him. She said she is going to get paid $105,000/yr to take care of her own kid. Holy shit!

I sent two patients for same spinal surgery. The one who paid cash was just over $8,000. The one who billed insurance was $91,000.

I just found out that our local hospital is now using AI ambient voice recording to automatically chart visits, based on whatever you say in the room. I know the IT guy who set it up and he said the non relevant information is not charted, but it is still stored on a server.

I saw a strange economic indicator yesterday. A 19-year-old told me that her and a bunch of other students at the local college got noticed that all of their financial aid was canceled and they are being deregistered from school.

A friend of mine just sold all of his tech stocks and retired early and is going to travel the world for a while looking for a place to live outside of the US. He doesn't want to be retired here even though he has millions.
