One of the best shorts of this era, its the HQ 4K version too, High recommendation! Since I know I got lots of Sonic fans following, this short was heavy inspiration for the animations of Sonic 1. Watch it for some important animation history why don't ya! haha
The Disney Kids Youtube channel has uploaded the classic "MICKEY MOUSE" short "Lonesome Ghosts" in honor of Halloween season.
The short was also one of the shorts showcased in "MICKEY'S HOUSE OF VILLAINS".

(I have long theorized Shigahesa used this character as influence for how he draws DK lol)

I'm talking about more then eyes. Esp now with a known Funky design as comparison there is just odd differences. The completely different face / mouth shape (esp for smiling), DK's Small separate ear, the more cone-like head shape. Does not match any of his new 2D art either.

As the final DK Bananza Event is announced as happy as I am that Funky Kong is his same ol' self. Unfortunately confirms a worry back when the redesign was announced in that DK no longer fits the visual style next to other Kongs, (as well as Diddy and Dixie with their weird eyes)

Retweeting this just because this has been on my mind alot lately unrealted to this discussion and wanted to share lol
The Blue Fairy and Geppetto are extremely obvious visual inspirations to their designs but I have never seen anyone bring it up like ever lol
That same sort of mindset exists heavily throughout the entire Mario franchise, whilst having aton of inspiration from Japanese mythos, takes alot visually from early 20th century western animation. Huge example of this is Pinocchio, with Wario and Geno being confirmed inspo.

Very happy to see Conker: Live and Reloaded be released on PC alongside other Xbox games. I really hope more of Rare's backlog gets ported to PC, it would be great to have them more accessible for more people.

Will likely be picking this up for Rambi, but Diddy Kong looks so bad its comical. I thought this would be the case but the stupid little skin line on the face looks even worse because of having to be put on a small toy.

Just finished Rayman 2. Had never played a Rayman game before but I wish I had gotten into the franchise sooner, quite enjoyed my time with it. Reminded me alot of Rare's N64 output whilst also having a strong identity of its own, presentation was esp great.

I'm so incredibly happy to know that one of Makino's original Sonic maquette is still around. It is indescribably cool me (especially as a 3D artist!). The other new photos from around when it was made is also really nice to have.
Shown today at SSL: the very first 3D Sonic figure ever made.
Built just to figure out how Sonic would look in 3D in 1992.
Kept as a little treasure at SEGA's offices.
