I've been following reports of ICE enforcement in southwest Kansas. Something has gone very wrong when schools are warning about children going uncared for and businesses are closing in fear. The leaders and law enforcement of Dodge City, Garden City, and Liberal even announced they had no idea what was happening and pleaded for more information from their government. One city commissioner said people are being stopped at random in the street. This is not how Washington should be treating Kansans. Federal enforcement should focus on serious criminals in coordination with local officials and Kansas families shouldn't live in fear.

Kansans deserve the truth.

I want to set the record straight. These attacks on our faith are false and a sad attempt to distract from the real hardships facing Kansans.

Great game, Chiefs! Listened to it while driving home from Emporia. I was there this evening meeting with a large group of amazing people, Dems, Republicans and Independents, at the Granada Theatre. Thank you to all who came out this evening!

I’m not telling you who to ride with. I’m simply telling you who I’m riding with… For 26 years, I traveled the roads of Kansas as a state trooper. I met people on some of the worst days of their lives. I never asked which political party they belonged to before helping them. They were people who needed someone. In those dark and dangerous moments, I was there to serve them and help guide them toward safety and a better tomorrow. Somewhere along the way, our country started forgetting how to see one another that way. We have become quicker to judge, slower to listen, and far too comfortable treating anyone who disagrees with us like an enemy. I’m not trying to be a good Democrat or a good Republican. I’m trying to be a good neighbor. I don’t believe this road is taking us where we need to go. Taking a different direction does not require tearing someone down. In 2019, @RogerMarshallMD nominated me for the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service in Policing. He wrote about my leadership, compassion, and the way I used social media to connect with Kansans and encourage safer choices. Roger once saw leadership in me. Speaking honestly now is my way of trying to live up to it. After talking with @Hamilton4Kansas, I believe he will listen before he speaks, see people before political labels, and treat those who disagree with him with dignity. I think about our communities, my children and my granddaughter. I want them to live in a country where kindness can still be seen, disagreement does not divide us, and we show up for those who need help. You may decide differently. I will still care about you. I kicked off the day at The Crazy Mule in Greensburg. I pulled up a chair, drank some coffee, and listened to neighbors talk about what's on their minds. Visited the Overland Park farmer's market this morning, did a live interview on KCUR there this morning. Wanted to take a quick vidoeo to share!

Here’s what life looks like on the campaign trail: LaVon and I and several of our staff left home at 8 am this morning. Made phone calls from the back seat for an hour. Arrived in Emporia to meet a small group of terrific folks at Gravel City Roasters and then a radio interview. On to Newton to Prairy, an amazing cafe and general store where we met up with some terrific folks, learned about their community, and had some really delicious sandwiches we ate on the road. Next stop, Wichita. We visited Humankind, a United Methodist ministry focused on addressing housing insecurity. Then met with a great group at Wichita Brewing Company to hear their take on what's happening in Washington and what they hope for in their next Senator - followed by a local TV interview. Then met with some gifted young leaders in Sedgwick County. On to Wichita State University - wow, really impressed with their aerospace program - one of the treasures of Kansas. Finally a gathering of about 100 enthusiastic people where I shared the vision of my campaign and fielded questions. It’s a bit after 9 pm and we’re traveling I-35 back to Stilwell. Home by 11. Long day, but so good! It was really great to get to meet so many of you today! Thank you!
