i think GIWA might be one of the more interesting Korea-backed L2 plays to watch in 2026 👀
Upbit’s parent company, Dunamu, is behind it.
it’s an OP Stack Ethereum L2, and the public testnet is already live.
the interesting part is… there’s still no confirmed
$GIWA token or airdrop.
so i wouldn’t treat this like some “free money” farm.
why i’m watching it:
.backed by Upbit / Dunamu
.Korea’s biggest exchange ecosystem
.Ethereum L2 built on OP Stack
.chain + wallet + KRW stablecoin ecosystem
.similar CEX → L2 direction we’ve seen with Base, BNB Chain, X Layer
there are also some big raise/valuation numbers floating around, but i’d take those with a grain of salt until there’s a clean source.
and honestly, i don’t think spamming transactions is the play here.
there’s no points leaderboard, no confirmed airdrop, and no token announcement.
if anything ends up mattering, i’d expect real usage + builders to be more meaningful.
if you wanna test it, it takes like 5–20 mins:
use a burner wallet
add GIWA Sepolia
→ chain ID: 91342
→ RPC:
sepolia-rpc.giwa.io
→ explorer:
sepolia-explorer.giwa.io
grab test ETH from the official GIWA faucet
bridge Sepolia ETH → GIWA Sepolia and back
create your
up.id
do the Dojang quests
spread some activity over a few days
then you can do the usual stuff:
→ send a few small txs
→ deploy a tiny contract
→ mint test NFTs if available
→ try swaps / LP if a DEX goes live
and there’s actually a builder route too 👀
GIWA Gasok MVP is/was the interesting part for builders — submit a pitch, demo, verified testnet contract and tech one-pager.
so personally, i’d rather spend time building something tiny than running 50 wallets trying to farm an unconfirmed airdrop lol.
the thesis is simple:
GIWA has the backing + exchange distribution + L2 infrastructure.
but the token is NOT confirmed, and no airdrop has been promised.
so for now, i’m just testing early and watching what they actually build.
if you’re looking for early testnets before they get crowded, this one is worth keeping on the radar imo.
not financial advice.
and obviously don’t connect your main wallet or give your seed phrase to random “airdrop checker” sites.
