I will never be able to wrap my head around people that support soft on crime policies. If the best case scenario for you is learning not to attack innocent strangers, I just don’t think rehabilitation is possible.
Chicago: A 7-year-old girl was killed after being stabbed by a repeat felon who should never have been free to walk the streets.
Eddimar Hernandez was attacked in broad daylight Saturday in an unprovoked stranger stabbing. Police say Shavon Gayden has been charged.
Gayden has been charged in at least four Cook County criminal cases since 2016. That includes a 2023 attack on a CTA bus operator. Cases were dropped. Convictions followed, but time & again, the system gave her another chance.
She received probation. And while the state processed & sentenced her on a battery charge, she was already on an active arrest warrant, a warrant the state never executed. They never took her back into custody, leaving her free to kill a young girl on a Saturday morning.
