Conservatives at the pub: first to brag about their political allegiance, mysteriously absent when its their turn to buy a round.

Canada—The Sleeping Military Giant 1/ Canada has the potential to become one of the world's top military powers—far surpassing Russia in tech, strategy, and spending. With their economic strength, defending themselves would be no contest. Here’s how they could do it: 🧵⬇️

No urgency on our side, says the guys that tried to export their critical supply of potash from Belarus... Lol
Jamieson Greer: "President Trump is comfortable where we are on Canada ... They call us now and then, and we have good conversations about potential deals, but there's no urgency on our side."

President Trump has now removed the 50% tariff on Canadian cement. That is welcome news for American builders, infrastructure projects, homebuyers and taxpayers, but it also quietly confirms the underlying economics. The tariff was never paid by Canada. It increased the cost of a critical construction input for Americans already struggling with housing affordability and infrastructure costs. Canadian cement did not suddenly become less important, nor could domestic supply be created overnight. Removing the tariff is the right decision. Now apply the same practical thinking to the rest of this deeply integrated trading relationship. You cannot make America more competitive by making the materials American companies need more expensive. 🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸🏗️ #CanadaUS #Tariffs #Housing #Infrastructure

Trump is so dumb! Bombardier supports over 3,000 direct full-time jobs in the United States and another 20,000 or so US jobs through its American supply chain. This includes jobs in Texas, Arizona, Florida, Kansas and elsewhere. Besides, U.S. companies supply a huge number of parts to Bombardier in the manufacturing process of their planes. Looks like a lot of U.S. Workers in Red states will be losing their jobs thanks to Donald Trump.

Can I share something with you. As US Ambassador to Canada I met with many senior officers of the US Military and several told me if they were ever stuck in a foxhole under fire and they couldn’t have an American at their side they would undoubtedly want a Canadian at their side defending them. They said to my face there isn’t a better trained combat officer. They said this after serving with them in Afghanistan. Thank you Canada 🇨🇦

1/2 American automakers face a classic prisoner's dilemma: pull out to avoid U.S. tariffs and concede the Canadian market to rivals, or stay in Canada to hold onto market share while taking a profit margin hit on cross-border shipments. #TrumpFailsAtEverything #cdnpoli #Lutnick

The automakers stepping into that vacuum—Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, and Hyundai—are doing so because they have spent years setting up non-U.S. supply loops and anchoring deep domestic roots in Canada.🇨🇦

This is a completely predatory, untrustworthy regime. So where are the Democrats? Where are the people in the streets? Where are the courts? Where's the business class? They're still muted."

🇨🇦 is Alabama's #1 trade Buddy ($4.3B/yr). No more Vance-built Mercedes or Hondas ($1.9B export hit) Paper mills & timber hit with tariffs ($155M) Potash surcharges hike fertilizer costs for AL cotton & corn farmers Think Kentucky bourbon: layoffs, closures & tears.
Canada is the biggest importer of Alabama goods and Trump’s trade war with Canada is gonna hurt Alabama workers. But Tommy Tuberville just takes a knee any time Trump speaks. What kind of “coach” takes a knee when your team is losing! That’s not Alabama leadership folks!

BREAKING: Fox News has just reported/admitted that the Federal Reserve may be forced to raise interest rates due to Donald Trump's mismanagement of inflation. This reported the same weekend as good news of Canada's GDP growth hits. I was told Trump was going to crush Canada?

Why Canada Can Weather a Trade War Better Than the U.S. (Even With a Smaller GDP) 🇨🇦💰 love pointing out their $27T economy vs. Canada’s $2.2T—but here’s the truth: GDP size doesn’t matter if the wealth isn’t evenly shared. A trade war will hit the avg American much harder:

I think Canada and the US were about to actually sign a deal, but Howard Lutnick had been making noises about how the deal wasn’t “tough enough” on Canada. He likely overruled Greer and pushed to have those one-sided demands last minute, basically killing the deal. Probably all in a bid to look tough in front of Trump. Unfortunately, 2 months ahead of the mid terms, this will likely backfire spectacularly. Lutnick will likely be blamed by Trump if there’s any blowback. Deteriorating relations between him and Trump are to watch.

And coming from a Conservative… enough losers in that party…
Teneycke: "When you elect leaders who are completely and utterly unaccomplished prior to entering politics and who have entered politics in their 20s, you are going to be very vulnerable to running against somebody who has actually done something with their life. And why Scheer is still sitting in the caucus is the same reason why Poilievre will end up sitting in the caucus after he's done being leader, because he is unemployable in any other job."
