In Canada, the iPhone 18 Pro Max uses Apple's C2 modem, while iPhone 18 Pro Max models in the United States have the Qualcomm modem. The other day I was in Erin, Ontario for a wedding (a pretty remote area). My iPhone was struggling for 5G service while my wife’s S26 Ultra was just fine. My wife's S26 Ultra is on Qualcomm. Just something to know if you’re a Canadian

After a week with the iPhone 18 Pro MAX I actually think it might be a slight downgrade from the iPhone 17 Pro Max. - FaceID is no longer as reliable - it’s heavier for no reason, sure I can accept the extra weight if the bigger Vapor cooling Chamber actually did something noticeable - meaning the 18 Pro Max gets just as hot if not hotter sometimes than its predecessor - battery is about the same in my experience nothing noticeable - cameras as same. Except the new photographic styles is a nice to have - smaller Dynamic Island is just pointless, sure having three live activities up there is nice but I don’t ever find myself in a position to need three - more expensive by a $100 - modem actually seems to be weaker in remote areas where my wife’s s26 ultra does fine!! ( we are on the same plan) - a20 pro is nice but use case do I have for All that power , 2 nano meter chip is supposed to be more power efficient but I don’t notice it

Two weeks ago I got accepted into the new X partner program and they seem to be paying out a very similar cpm to YouTube adsense. Might be worth taking this platform as seriously as YouTube now. 🤔

1 week with the iPhone 18 Pro Max and yes I’ve noticed that Face ID is failing more than my 17 Pro did. Apple moved the Face ID IR camera UNDER the screen (top-left corner) to shrink the Dynamic Island. Slight amount of dust or dirt Covering that corner, use a matte or privacy protector, and it can miss.
