Totally agree with this. Szoboslai and Wirtz are least of LFC problems, imo.
Fitness is a huge issue.
And the two players in which Liverpool rely on for creativity in Florian Wirtz & Dominik Szoboszlai are doing all the running for everyone else.
You can’t ask them to both do it all, and the wild thing is they’re the two who get majority of the abuse.

This is a really good point. I’m near certain LFC would’ve signed both. But then, they would’ve been part funded by selling Gakpo. And probably also still signed Munoz.
Which begs the question - in June what did they think the combined cost of Diomande and Barcola would be, and by how much would Gakpo sale have offset these fees ?
I think, optimistically, in June, they think, £190m gets you Diomande and Barcola. But, £60m the most you get for Gakpo. And they will have known Munoz release clause was £35m.
So, stay with me, they’d mentally committed to a net spend of £165m on wingers. So, perhaps the elevated £120m fee for Barcola is what made them think they couldn’t ‘afford’ a further £80m on a Minteh or Sarr.
But then again Gakpo’s potential fee inflated by £25m to £85m.
Maybe should’ve ask Bezos to underwrite the extra they perceived needed to give us a proper chance of a crack at something decent this season.
This summer flew by, and I genuinely haven’t had a grasp on what the club were going for, but was there a consensus among respected journalists about us going after both Barcola and Diomandé? Is there a world where the former became the priority only after the latter chose Real?
