I’m not sure if this is the quote that has generated the “pitch count” story today, but oh my goodness, if it is, we are making a whole helluva lot of assumptions. If this is the quote, that is awful, awful headlining by whoever started it & the echo chamber is just as bad.

We have two, really three, four backs when you include Josh Williams too that we feel good about. But yeah, it’s really a feel for the flow. Sometimes, if you catch a hot hand and he ends up with 22 carries and you win the football game, then you don’t think twice about it. But we do wanna be mindful of that, knowing that we’re gonna need Bucky for the long haul. Still early on in the season here, still guys getting their breath and getting used to game shape and all those things that come with it. Is Kenneth Gainwell even a hold anymore? Many expected him to hold flex value, but this unquestionably Bucky Irving’s backfield. Gainwell cannot be anywhere near any starting lineup. If Irving were to miss time, wouldn’t Gainwell just split with Sean Tucker?

In that scenario, Gainwell would operate as the primary pass catching back, but Tucker would likely operate as the early down back and the primary runner near the goal line. Few players have lost as much value as Gainwell has in just two weeks…

CeeDee Lamb has recorded the 8th highest PPG average of all-time for a WR. We know he’s a truly elite WR. Dallas is projected to be top-5 in scoring & pass attempts. And people are fading him…. Dallas has nothing behind George Pickens. These two are gonna eaaaat! Buy both!!

One of the most predicative data sets is first downs per route run. Right now, Brian Thomas’s 17.6% 1D:RR average is top-10. Through 2 weeks. Parker Washington has 18 targets & Brian Thomas has 11. No one else for the Jags has more than 5. The breakout game is coming…

AWESOME graphics by @jagibbs_23, but I’m actually buying low on Rico Dowdle. Thought his utilization was encouraging. Seems to be the primary RB near the goal line & running a good number of routes too. Higher snap rate than Warren. Good buy low option for RB needy teams.
