The fact Don Mattingly decided to go with Aaron Nola over Wheeler who’s been outstanding in the postseason is just a generational fuck up. What a dumb decision. So glad he’s gone

Inspired by a Reddit thread, I gathered some stats on how Vic Fangio's defenses from 2023 to the present day have fared from before the Phillies were eliminated from the playoffs to after:
Before:
EPA/drive: -0.41
Yards per play: 5.5
Success rate: 54.07%
After:
EPA/drive: 0.59
Yards per play: 4.71
Success rate: 58.01%
For context, here's how those stats would've ranked among all teams in 2025:
Before:
EPA/drive: 28th
Yards per play: 21st
Success rate: 17th
After:
EPA/drive: 4th
Yards per play: 3rd
Success rate: 4th

Three-time Pro-Bowl tight end Zach Ertz, who played in Philadelphia from 2013-‘21 and helped the team win its first Super Bowl, is returning to the city and signing with the Eagles practice squad, per sources. The Eagles lost TE Dallas Goedert to a sprained MCL and now are turning to Ertz, who spent the past two seasons in Washington.

This Eagles offense is already light years ahead of where they were last year and they’re playing FAR from their best.
If the O-Line can tighten up and establish the run, this offense can really start rolling and look dangerous.
