I urge everyone to take a step back, lower the temperature and allow the PSNI to do its job. My thoughts are with the officers on the ground, working in difficult circumstances to keep people safe.
Despite its flaws, devolution really does matter. As Health Minister I’m focused on improving our health service and keeping the current progress moving. We cannot afford more instability. Politicians of every shade should be focusing on the budget crisis, not opening up another one and inflaming tensions over parading. In the meantime, I really do hope that all HSC staff, especially in the Portadown area, are given the chance to get on with their critical work.

⚠️🚨 UPDATE: Health Minister @RobbieButlerMLA says more Stormont departments must step up on suicide prevention - insisting joined-up approach could save lives
🎥🎤 Speaking to Chief Reporter @jamesgould23, the Minister backed calls for responsibility to go beyond his Department.
👥 It comes after a new report warned suicide prevention cannot be left to health alone.
There were 290 suicide deaths registered in Northern Ireland in 2024, with around four in five of them men.
The report is calling for departments to share responsibility and for a new ring-fenced, cross-departmental suicide prevention fund.

An excellent thread on the Conversion Therapy debate and the deliberate omissions within the draft Bill.
@EoinTennyson has said on Hansard, and affirmed his view on @BBCTalkback that “coercive behaviour” definition in his Conversion Practices Bill is just borrowed from the Domestic Abuse and Civil Proceedings Act (NI) 2021. That is only half true. He copied the list of offences. He did not copy the explicit carve out for parent and child relationships. 1/5

Stop rewriting history @jeremycorbyn
Your efforts to rewrite recent history are akin to what some are trying to do here in Northern Ireland.
The victims on 9/11 were murdered.
Terrorism cannot be sanitised. Victims cannot be airbrushed out. Truth cannot be rewritten to suit a political narrative.
It will not happen.
Today marks 25 years since the attacks of September 11.
We remember all those whose lives were lost and shattered that day. And we honour the bravery of first responders, many of whom are still battling illnesses and campaigning for their right to healthcare.
What followed was a catastrophic 'War on Terror', which killed many hundreds of thousands of people, left many more in desperate poverty, fuelled a wave of Islamophobia, and triggered an endless spiral of conflict, hatred and misery.
The US led, and Britain supinely followed. The world is still living with the consequences of this disastrous decision, yet there is still no accountability for the death and destruction it left behind.
Today, we must learn the lessons of history. That means recognising that war is not the answer, ending the horrors of occupation, and striving to build a world of peace and harmony for all.

Principle is a funny thing when it changes according to whether you like the words being spoken.
Presidents are entitled to their views. But they don't get a vote in Northern Ireland.
I note the sudden conversion of some. For years we have been told this President is beyond the pale: his character, his conduct, his position on Gaza. Some of those now cheering him boycotted the White House over it. One sentence about a united Ireland and he is apparently a statesman of rare vision. It seems his judgement is sound only on the one subject where it happens to suit. The cherry picking is at least consistent.
The President was at least candid enough to accept that the United Kingdom would have something to say about it. So would the people of Northern Ireland, who under the Belfast Agreement are the only people whose consent counts.
President Trump on a united Ireland:
“I’d love to see it unified. I think it would be a great feather in everybody’s cap if that happened. It’s going to happen eventually.
“You know what? The way I look at it, it’s going to happen eventually. It may as well happen now."
