A lot of people asked me for the sources of the @threejsconf badge, so here they are : hervestudio.github.io/badge-… It's a very DIY project and far from perfect, but that's also what makes it approachable: everything can be rebuilt with a soldering iron, a 3D printer and a few cheap components. I tried to document it as clearly as possible, so you can either build it as is or use it as a starting point for something else. If anything is unclear, just write to me :)

Just released a new node-webgl package 🎉 Headless WebGL 1 & 2 for Node.js, powered by ANGLE, the same graphics layer used by Chrome. Render three.js scenes natively on macOS, Windows & Linux. 100% browser-free, no Puppeteer, and only ~5 MB to download. 1/2

I've been reflecting on why @threejsconf felt so special... ​Leaving aside my obvious bias, I think it comes down to this: it happened organically. It grew out of the community, rather than being imposed onto it. 🧵

I can't believe the @threejsconf is over. What a great time we had together, and what amazing talks. I'm so glad we got to finally meet in real life and not just behind avatars and pseudonyms. it's hard to describe @threejsconf: amazing talks, perfect organisation by @makio64 team, @mrdoob "manipulating" speaker slides from control room 🤌. I've been to a lot of events, this one has soul. But above it all, gathering of soo many nice people. Most of them meeting each other for the first time in person. I cant even tag everybody i met! And describe how good it all felt! I'm flabbergasted. I loved all the interactions and talks. And online just doesnt cut it, we all need to meet. Thank you @threejsconf, and... when? =P

Every speaker’s badge detects the ones nearby and says hi 👋 with a randomized animation The goal: turn it into a social game, with a leaderboard of who met who. ESP-NOW makes it possible: peer-to-peer, no Wi-Fi connection needed, and easy on the battery.
