A CONVERSATION:
DAVE: "I don't know, Ray. I'm about done. We finally get the House, the Senate, the White House, and half of them still trip over their own feet. Why should I even bother voting again?"
RAY: "I hear you. Nobody's saying they've been perfect. Some of these guys couldn't organize a two-car parade."
DAVE: "Right? So what's the point."
RAY: "The point is you never get perfect. You get a direction. And the day you sit home, you're not sending a message to the Republicans. You're handing the car keys to the Democrats."
DAVE: "Come on. How much worse can it really get?"
RAY: "How much worse? Think back three years. Gas at five bucks. A grocery bill that made you wince at the checkout. The border wide open, cartels running it like their own toll road. That wasn't an accident, Dave. That was them, on purpose."
DAVE: "The border's better now. I'll give you that."
RAY: "It's better because somebody's finally guarding the door. Hand the keys back and it swings wide open again by the weekend. Same with your paycheck. Same with your gas tank. Same with whether some judge decides your kid's school knows better than you do."
DAVE: "But the spending. They promised to cut it and they didn't."
RAY: "And you're right to be hot about it. Stay hot. Primary the bums, hold their feet to the fire, make them earn your vote. That's how you fix your own team. You don't fix it by letting the other team burn the house down while you sulk in the driveway."
DAVE: "..."
RAY: "Look. The Democrats aren't offering you a better Republican. They're offering open borders, higher taxes, a DOJ that treats parents at a school board meeting like suspects, and boys in your daughter's locker room. That's the real menu. It's not perfect versus great. It's frustrating versus a train wreck."
DAVE: "When you put it that way."
RAY: "A man doesn't sell his house because the porch light burned out. You change the bulb. You don't torch the place and go move in with the people who robbed you last time."
DAVE: "So you're saying stay in the fight."
RAY: "I'm saying we're finally winning a few. Border's tighter, prices are settling, people are getting their spine back. That's exactly when they're praying you get discouraged and stay home. Don't hand them the one thing they can't win without."
DAVE: "Alright, Ray. Alright. I'm in."
RAY: "That's my guy."
