I think this is ultimately what Orthodox Christians are striving for when they insist on persons becoming Orthodox for unity in the Christian faith, that we may be united not merely in name, but in communion and doctrine, which leads to true brotherhood and strength within the Church.
As St. Paul says, “I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment” (1 Corinthians 1:10).
We cannot have true Christian unity if it requires doctrinal compromise. If we compromise on the truth of the faith simply for the sake of outward unity, then ultimately we are compromising on Christ Himself, because Christ is the Truth.
Become a voice for Christian unity and strength and brotherhood; not division and hate and weakness!
